I am a postdoctoral research scientist at the University of Oxford. I am part of the Policy and Research Group at the Pandemic Sciences Institute. My work focuses on rapid research needs appraisals to generate evidence proactively and reactively in response to outbreaks to inform clinical and public health policies and research prioritisation.

I have a PhD in Demography and Population Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). I hold a BSc in Biochemistry from Imperial College London, and a MSc in Global Population Health from LSE.

Naturally, my research is at the intersection of demography and health policy. Within these general areas, I focus on population health in times of transitions - both socio-political and epidemiological. I am particularly interested in understanding mortality patterns and social determinants of health. With my research, I aim to advance knowledge on how transitions or times of crisis manifest themselves on population health, as well as inform health policy.

My primary research focus is on the countries of the Balkan region, that have transitioned from socialism to democracy. I also have research interest and experience working on projects in the African region, Eastern-Mediterranean region and South-East Asia.

I strongly believe in the importance of evidence-based, context specific policy making, and I strive through my work to understand different contexts and contribute to the generation of data and evidence.
